Tiny Tot Pre-K Academy
The Growing Gym Mother’s Morning Out program at Alabama Kidnastics Starz Elite, announces a new program designed to ready your child for Developmental Kindergarten while offering parents an option for extended care-after school.
We are excited to welcome Renée Edwards to our facility and the leader of a new Developmental 4K/ Kindergarten Program. Mrs. Edwards helped develop the successful 4K program at Riverton Elementary School and is looking forward to bringing that program back to our community. Mrs. Edwards goal is to offer a high quality Kindergarten preparatory program for 4 year-olds and 5 year-olds that either miss the School age cut off or parents would like to give just 1 more year of growth.
This is not a license day care program. This is a private school ran by Renee Edwards. Please direct all questions to Renee at nae1070@gmail.com or call 256-640-5336.
FAQ:
What is Developmental 4K?
A full day academic program designed to allow 4 and 5 year-olds to work alongside of each other developing the skills needed to be successful in Kindergarten.
When is the program in session?
4K will operate like typical preschool and will follow the standard school year calendar. Alternate programming specific for this age group will be made available during the summer months.
What does the program cost?
The cost of the 4K program is $550 per month. There will be a 1 time enrollment fee to cover the cost of curriculum materials.
How long is the school day?
Our program will run from 7:30-2:30 giving students the opportunity to build the endurance needed for Full Day Kindergarten.
What if I need extended day opportunities?
Our 4K program will offer before and after school opportunities for an additional fee for those that need it.
What curriculum will be used?
All curriculum has been designed by our teacher Renee Edwards. She has a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development and Education along with a Masters in Curriculum Design for Early Childhood. Renee uses a multisensory, hands on thematic approach for delivering content across all core subjects. Curriculum is developmentally appropriate and is presented in large and small group format.

Families will be asked to send nap mats for their child. Quiet time will be scheduled daily. This provides those that need it, an opportunity for a short nap while they adjust to a longer day. For those that no longer nap, quiet individual activities will be provided.
How will I know what is going on in class?
Each child will have a daily folder for communication. A weekly newsletter will be sent home every Monday.
Reviews:
“As a parent of a PreK student who barely knew his ABCs, I was a bit nervous about him starting PreK. Our son instantly warmed up to Mrs. Edwards and he never looked back. From the start of PreK, in August, to our first parent/teacher conference in December our son grew leaps and bounds academically. He knew his alphabet, identified most letters upper and lowercase, and was well on his way to knowing the sound of each letter. We were amazed because he was not easy to work with at home. Mrs. Edwards always made our child feel loved and he was very excited to go to school each day. She makes learning fun loves each child as if they were her own.”

“I come to share my experience in 4K to HIGHLY recommend Mrs. Edwards. As a fellow educator, I feel that I have high “expectations” for my children and their educational journey which in turn has high expectations upon their teachers. Mrs. Edwards completely blew me away with her approach to learning, her calm and nurturing stature, and her ability to provide age-appropriate experiences and hands-on activities to promote a LOVE for learning that has continued throughout my child’s educational experience. She laid the foundation for this love of school, and I cannot say enough that she is, at her core, an incredible mentor, dedicated teacher, and lifelong learner. I look forward to supporting Mrs. Edwards in all her future ventures and know that, without a doubt, she will continue making strides to develop our future leaders.”

“Mrs. Edwards was a great 4K teacher for our daughter. She didn’t want to leave 4K. Mrs. Edwards always made sure she had all she needed. During the pandemic, when school closed, she delivered learning materials to our house and read a book every night on Zoom.”
– Sara (mom of 2)
“Mrs. Edwards taught my son in 4K at Riverton Elementary. We both adored her from the second we met her. She made her classes very educational and fun. The way she genuinely cares about the kids is what really touched my heart. She always knew what every child needed on any occasion. She pays great attention to your child. My son still talks about her and his class to this day. He truly enjoyed Mrs. Edwards. We hated to see her leave Riverton, but we are excited for her new adventures ahead. She is the BEST!!”

“Renee and her 4k team became family from day one! She loves what she does and it shows in how she loves the children. Renee’s program solidly educated our daughter and primed her social and emotional health as well. She was thoroughly prepared for entering Kindergarten. We would recommend any program spearheaded by Renee!”

“Mrs. Edwards is a phenomenal teacher. My son was nervous about attending school, but Mrs. Edwards made his transition easy. He learned so much from her and still uses the resources she provided in class. Unfortunately the pandemic ended his 4K year early and he had to finish remote. Mrs. Edwards kept her class engaged and eager to learn even if it wasn’t in a classroom. I highly recommend her! You will not be disappointed!”
